I really hate the restrictive promps we get in creative writing. For this one we have to write one page of dialogue for two characters on a monopoly board. She has assigned our message, our theme, our characters, thier clothes and props and everything. Creative does not belong in the name for this course.
If the prompt was to just to write something absurdist I could have some fun with it. I'd write something fun. Like maybe . . . a scene from an episode of Oprah. Her book club episodes. The book of the month would be . . . something insane. Ulysses? No, that would be over too fast, none of the audience would respond. 120 Days of Sodom or Philosophy in the Bedroom by De Sade. The former is just violent and shocking, and that could work. The latter actually has a philosophy to it, though one I'm sure Oprah viewers would find abhorrent. Oooh! Or the book of the month could be the Protocols of the Elders of Zion! She could stage a talk with the authors who would, of course, be shown only in shiloette. Maybe they would speak in a southern drawl? Or they might be wearing KKK grand wizard costumes behind the sceen. I'm not sure about that last part, but I think you see my point. I would have much more fun if this damn class allowed for creativity.
